It's taken me years, but look..the blog is finally active!
Might as well start it off with my latest project: Glasscraft-A-Day.
Ever since seeing the
Skull-A-Day blog back in 2007 or 2008, I wanted to eventually start my own craft-a-day project. It's taken a while, but now seemed like the perfect time to finally go ahead and dedicate myself to it. I'll be posting a different glass project every day. Let's see if I can keep this baby up for 365 days!
I'll also be posting other projects I'm working on, random things I find entertaining, and so forth.
Feel free to submit images or themes you'd like to see in glass!
Day 1: Eddie (Iron Maiden) suncatcher
Iron Maiden played a show in Houston over the weekend. Unfortunately, we were unable to attend this time around. Since I was working on glass at the time the show was going on anyway, I decided that my next piece would be something dedicated to Maiden!
I've had a Trooper panel drawn up for a while, so decided to use this image for Eddie's skull (simplified, of course).

Gotta say, the glass used for his flesh ended up being a total pain in the a**. Almost every piece wanted to run its score in a different direction. I haven't had a sheet of glass be this much of a hassle in a very long time. But hey, at least he's done!
